3. Delivery Preparation & Site Checklist

Ensure your site is accessible and prepared before the HIAB delivery vehicle arrives.

🚧 1. Road & Gate Access

HIAB vehicles require a minimum gate and lane width of 10ft (3.05m) and vertical clearance of 14ft (4.25m) clear of low-hanging branches and cables.

⚡ 2. Overhead Wire Safety

Under UK Health and Safety rules, hydraulic crane booms cannot deploy within danger zones near live electrical wires or high-voltage overhead cables.

Containers only bear weight on their 4 corner castings. Place level railway sleepers, steel baseplates, or paving slabs under each corner to prevent door twisting.

Prevent container rain. For temperature-sensitive goods or paperwork, specify Grafotherm roof spray or full internal insulation with 12mm plywood.

🔒 5. Security & Lockboxes

Always fit a heavy-duty, factory-welded steel lockbox to protect your high-security padlock from angle grinders and bolt-cutters.
